The life and value of printed circuit boards

24 April 2026

Small but crucial, printed circuit boards (PCBs) are an essential component of modern off-road equipment. PCBs process the electric signals that go to and from the motor controller, dashboard, engine control unit, joystick, and many other electrical parts. As part of TVH, Bepco has decades of experience in both supplying specific types and repairing and remanufacturing defective or worn parts to a quality that matches a new one.

Each PCB is unique

Did you know that all PCBs all have the same basic structure, but ultimately, no two PCBs are the same? They are as diverse as the machines and functionalities they enable. Even PCBs from the same brand are different from one another. They might be similar, but each is configured specifically for the vehicle it’s installed in.

Fortunately, we have a deep technical understanding of this electronic powerhouse. Combined with our product range, we are sure to have the right PCB for any customer’s needs.

Rebuilt to reuse

Naturally, customers can buy new PCBs to fit machines. However, thanks to our deep technical expertise, we have the ability and resources to repair defective PCBs or remanufacture PCBs to a quality that matches new ones.

We buy your old PCB

When replacing a PCB, throwing away the old one isn’t the smartest move. For one, why dump a part that you can still create value from? We are happy to take your old PCB off your hands, and it only takes a few steps:

  • Contact us at [email protected]. If possible, mention details such as the part number, machine brand and type, and the PCB’s condition.
  • Send us the old PCB.
  • If the PCB is still in a repairable condition, we’ll send you a quote.

In addition, remanufacturing saves valuable parts from ending up in landfills and contributes to a circular economy.

Support from a to z

Bepco has the technical expertise to help the customer throughout the whole process. For one, customers can always contact us to help them find the correct PCB to replace their broken or defective one, and guide them through the purchase process.

Of course, helping customers doesn’t stop once the part has been purchased. While PCBs aren’t that difficult to install, you still need to take the right precautions. For instance, it’s crucial to avoid electrostatic discharge (ESD). In certain cases, this can cause critical damage to the fragile semiconductor devices on the PCB, and rendering the newly purchased PCB useless.

As always, we are here to help, so the PCB is installed correctly and, consequently, functions as expected.

As said, no two PCBs are alike, so it’s vital you install the correct PCB. Why? Because oftentimes, PCBs are not easily accessible, and you need to ‘dig deep’ into the machine to access the electronic printed circuit board, which can take a lot of time and effort. Evidently, you don’t want to spend unnecessary time redoing this just because you received and installed the wrong PCB. Rest assured, thanks to our technical expertise, we provide you with the correct PCB.

Types of PCB installation

Customers also need to know which type of PCB they are purchasing. After mechanical mounting of the PCB, you also need to install it electronically. Here, there are three possibilities:

  • Plug and play: The PCB doesn't need programming or comes pre-programmed, so you just need to connect the wiring to function correctly.
  • Configure parameters: The PCB has the software pre-installed, but some parameters still need to be set. For instance, the output voltage of the joystick during the idle state and the maximum displacement.
  • Programming: The PCB comes with a blank slate: you still need to install the software and set the parameters. Compare it to a computer that merely has BIOS installed.
