How to discharge lead-acid batteries

02 Januari 2026

The lead-acid battery is the most expensive part of a machine. Keeping it in good condition not only ensures that the equipment functions properly but also prevents the battery from needing premature replacement. The only way to accurately check whether a battery is performing optimally is to use a battery discharger or a load bank test. This device also enables the creation of customised, detailed battery reports. Watch our video to learn how to use the Energic Plus battery discharger.

What to remember

  1. Connect: Connect the machine’s battery to the discharger.
  2. Battery data: Ensure you have all the necessary information (e.g., voltage and amperage) on hand before you begin.
  3. Plug in: Insert the USB flash drive before starting the process to ensure that all data is saved.
  4. Set up the discharge process: Enter the required values, including voltage, current, time, amp-hour (Ah) limit, and more.
  5. Save & run: Press the “Save & run” button to start the discharge process.
  6. Analyse data: Receive detailed reports on the battery’s discharging process with just a few clicks.
