What is the typical expected cycle life of an Energic Plus battery under normal industrial use?
The cycle life of batteries depends heavily on their technology. Our open lead-acid (monoblock) traction batteries typically have a cycle life of approximately 1,200 cycles at an 80% depth of discharge (DoD). In comparison, our maintenance-free AGM batteries have around 500 cycles at 80% DoD, and our gel batteries have around 700 cycles at 80% DoD.
However, the level of maintenance that batteries receive also plays a major role in optimising their cycle life. That’s why the Energic Plus range also includes battery regenerators and maintenance systems that significantly prolong service life by reversing sulfation, the main cause of capacity loss in lead-acid batteries.
